Response Readiness focuses on strengthening the data and digital foundations that National Societies need to effectively respond to crises. Many response challenges do not stem from a lack of tools, but from missing readiness: fragmented systems, unclear workflows, limited digital skills, and weak information management during preparedness. Response Readiness addresses these gaps before emergencies occur.
Response Readiness is designed to provide practical support, not to drive digital transformation single‑handedly. It focuses on building foundational capabilities, aligning tools and workflows, and supporting National Societies to implement their own data and digital strategies and roadmaps in a more integrated, data‑driven, and sustainable way.
This thematic area brings together a focused portfolio of data and digital services that support National Societies across the disaster cycle, with preparedness identified as the strongest entry point for digital transformation, complementing the IFRC Preparedness for Effective Response (PER) Framework. Guided by people, processes and technology, Response Readiness offers a coherent set of services addressing the most common and high‑value needs. Together, these services form an integrated pathway that reduces operational friction and creates the conditions for timely, relevant, accountable and scalable humanitarian action.
