Glossary Term: NGO

A non-governmental organisation (NGO) is often referred to as a non-profit organisation. While often funded by governments and international governmental organisation, NGOs are independent actors that try to improve the lives of other people through humanitarian, educational, health care, public policy, social, human rights, and environmental means.
